"To relieve the suffering of one's time, there is no greater path than medicine. Within it, nothing is more effective than the prescription of herbs."

Herbal medicine is one of the most important aspects of East Asian medicine. It has a recorded history dating back over two thousand years and in contemporary China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and other Asian countries is practised extensively in hospitals and clinics alongside Western medicine.

In practice herbal medicine combines a detailed analysis of signs and symptoms with a unique system of pulse, abdominal and tongue diagnosis to develop a detailed picture of the course and process of disease. After diagnosis each person is prescribed an individual formula tailor-made to their specific requirements. This allows for a subtle form of treatment with minimal side-effects.
